Gina Carano (pic bellow) was 3.5 lbs over the weight limit, she will have to give up 12.5% percent of her purse to Kaitlin Young. This dose not surprise me, as she looked about 180lbs during last weeks CBS media press day.

EliteXC News: Villasenor Replaces Ninja Rua on May 31

EliteXC has announced that Joey Villasenor will step in and fight Phil Baroni on the debut of CBS “Saturday Night Fights” show on May 31, replacing Murilo “Ninja” Rua who dropped out of the fight for an undisclosed reason.

Villasenor, made quick work in his last fight, knocking out Ryan Jensen in the first round of the co-promoted Strikeforece-EliteXC card on March 29.

CBS “Saturday Night Fights” is set for May 31 from the Prudential Center in Newark, NJ.

Bill O’Reilly: Barbarity On CBS Primetime

Tonight on Fox News show, “The O’Reilly Factor” Bill O’Reilly discussed the introduction of mixed martial arts to primetime television. O’Reilly guests included journalist and New York Times bestselling author Bernard Goldberg and Jane Hall, a communications professor at American University.

“The’re going to bring in this brutal thing” said O’Reilly “It is brutal, people got to understand this”

“You got a primetime show where your gonna have two guys get into a ring and kick and gouge and punch and make each other bleed”

“Bill Paley, the man who founded CBS is turning over in his grave about now” Said guest Bernard Goldberg “He had standards”.

Jane Hall, “I think its a terrible idea and there is no redeeming social value”

EliteXC will air its landmark CBS broadcast fights “Saturday Night Fights” on May 31 from the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey. Headlining the card is street fighter Kimbo Slice against former Pride fighter James Thompson.
