Bobby Green Debuts versus Jacob Volkmann at UFC 156

Bobby Green is one of the most impressive and bankable fighters in MMA. He is also the latest addition from Strikeforce to the UFC family. His transition to UFC was welcomed with a match at UFC 156. He will face Jacob Volkman on February 2, 2013 at the Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas, Nevada, USA.

UFC 156 is an event fans are waiting for with a pay-per-view broadcast headline fight between featherweight title holder Jose Aldo and former lightweight champion Frankie Edgar. This event also has a featured match between Alistair Overeem as he returns to the cage with a license by the Nevada Athletic Commission and Antonio Silva

Bobby “King” Green is a 26 year old lightweight from Fontana, California Country, United States and he has a superb 19 win and only 5 loss records in his professional MMA career. His last fight at Strikeforce was a victory over Matt Ricehouse at Strikeforce – Rousey versus Kaufman in August 2012 via unanimous decision. This was his fourth consecutive win battling fighters like James Terry, James Reese and Charon Spain. His last defeat was way back in June 2011 as Gesias Cavalcante at Strikeforce/M1 Global- Fedor versus Henderson where he suffered a loss via split decision.

His opponent at UFC 156 is Jacob “Christmas” Volkman, a 32 year old lightweight fighter from White Bear Lake, Minnesota Country, United States. He also has an impressive career stat with 15 wins and only 3 losses ever since he started his professional MMA career. His last fight was a victory over Shane Roller at UFC on FX 5 –Browne versus Bigfoot via submission in just 2 minutes and 38 seconds of round 1 in October 2012. Before this win however, he was defeated by Paul Sass at UFC 146 –Dos Santos versus Mir in May 2012 via submission in less than two minutes of round 1. Before this defeat he has enjoyed five consecutive wins since March 2010 up to December 2011. He has defeated excellent fighters like Efrain Escudero, Danny Castillo,  Antonio McKee and Paul Kelly to name a few. When Christmas first started out as a pro, he had an undefeated record from September 2007 when he defeated Chaylen Rader at Cage Fighting Xtreme 6 until May 2009 when he won over Kevin Knabjain in Bellator Fighting Championships 7-8 via submission in just less than 2 minutes of round 2.
