Mirko Cro Cop vs. Alistair Overeem Rematch Set For NYE K-1 Dynamite 2008

In a recent interview with Dvenik.hr, Mirko Cro Cop has confirmed that he will rematch Alistair Overeem at the New Years Eve K-1 Dynamite 2008 show at the Saitama Super Arena in Japan.
The two faced off last month at DREAM 6, but ended in a disappointing “No Contest” after Overeem struck the Croatian fighter multiple times in the groin.
Cro Cop also revealed that he will continue to have work on his knee after the NYE fight.
“I’ve had several operations this year, and I’ll have to undergo another one straight after the NYE event. It’s frustrating to have to undergo all these operations but that’s the sportsman’s life. Many others have had it worse then me,”

I guess he wasn’t lying when he said he was confident that he could knock out Overeem…
b/c if he doesn’t it just gonna be the same thing we saw in the first fight, which is most likely what will happen
It’s kinda hard to throw those devastating head kicks when you’ve been taken to the ground and controlled every round

I agree but wasnt Cro Cop kicked in the balls a few times by this guy…that has got to hurt.

Call me crazy but as boring as the first fight was I still want to see this one. It could end at any second with these guys. Either by head kick or groin smash.

Cro Cop sucks. He left UFC because he could not hang there. If people want to get upset well the truth hurts. Look at his record in the UFC. He is a white Kimbo slice.

Dave did you see him when he fought in pride?
He was amazing.
He made a stupid move and thought that he didn’t need to modify his training for the octagon (see Kongo pinning him against the cage and kneeing him in the balls THREE times) which is WAY different than a ring.
or for elbows (see when G.G. elbowed him in the head so much that he didn’t even see the high kick that knocked him out) instead of knees on the ground.
Was he arrogant in thinking that he was unbeatable as was?
Yes.
Is he another Kimbo?? Pffft hardly. Way to prove you know very little by saying something so ignorant.
I just hope you were saying it for effect and don’t actually believe it.

Cro Cop is a yellow chicken. He had 3 fights left on his UFC contract which was one of the most lucrative in MMA history and he tucked tail and ran back to DREAM where he still got his ass handed to him by Overeem. He’s lucky the UFC doesn’t sue him. I was a huge Cro Cop fan, but honestly now I see that he is a fighter with no heart and no determination. He wants the easy way out. Plus his fights in Pride were mostly against cans, and smaller men. I mean he fought Bobb Sapp, Vanderlai (LHW) an exhausted Josh Barnette who he poked in the eye at the Grande Prix and a bunch of no name Japanese cans. His only good fight was against Fedors brother, and Noguira – which he lost. He is the first fighter I have ever seen actually quit a match due to groin strikes.
