UFC on Fox Sports 1 fight featuring a light heavyweight match-up between Mauricio Rua versus Chael Sonnen has added another duo that will join them in Boston, TD Garden in August 17, 2013. UFC has added lightweights Cole Miller and Manny Gamburyan who will keep the crowd on their feet as they wait for the night’s main event.
But Miller and Gamburyan are not just your average lightweights; these fighters have had their share of wins and fantastic matches. Cole “Magrinho” Miller returns after resting for a month, we last saw him submitting Bart Palaszewski at the UFC – The Ultimate Fighter 17 Finale in April 13, 2013. The 29- year old fighter from Augusta, Georgia landed a rear-naked choke on Palaszewski in just 4 minutes and 23 seconds of round one. This was his 19th win since he turned professional in 2005. Miller only has 7 losses. His recent win in April was his comeback after losing back to back in 2012; he lost to Steven Siller at UFC on Fox 2 and Nam Pham in UFC on Fox 4.
Manny “The Anvil” Gamburyan on the other hand is a 32 year old fighter from North Hollywood, California. He has a spectacular record of 12 wins and just 7 losses in his professional career. His last fight was a win over Michihiro Omigawa at UFC on Fox 4 last August 2012 via unanimous decision. This was a win that he needed after losing three fights in a row against fighters like Diego Nunes, Tyson Griffin and Jose Aldo. He is an impressive fighter even from the start of his professional career which was evident even when he was just in Kage Kombat, Reality Submission Fighting, KOTC and WEC. Miller and Gamburyan fans will absolutely love to wait for their fighters on the octagon however they still need to wait for about a month or two from now since this Boston event is scheduled on August of this year.
Aside from Miller and Gamburyan, other impressive fighters who will grace the event are Alistair Overeem, Travis Browne, Urijah Faber, Michael McDonald, Thiago Alves, Iuri Alcantara, Brad Pickett and Matt Brown to name a few. And since it is too early to be certain about the event, fans are recommended to stand by for more official UFC announcements these coming weeks.
