By CagE | March 13, 2010

Manny Pacquiao came to win in Dallas! Defeating Joshua Clottey by unanimous decision. Cagetoday.com: ALL 12 Rounds go to Pacquiao (120-108). Judges: (120-108, 119-109, 119-109)
“I’m not sure Joshua Clottey came to win tonight.” said HBO boxing announcer Jim Lampley.
Clottey’s defensive style proved easy for Manny Pacquiao to rack up the points with numerous combinations making decision a no brainer even for boxing judges.

Agreed x 3. PBF needs to come out of hiding. I want him to beat Mosley, and then this supefight with Pacman can be set up. None of this blood testing horse shit. Pacman is so small that there is no way he can be taking steroids.

Boxing’s numbers have dropped over the years though. Even boxers and promoters themselves will talk about how the sport needs to get back to where it was.

please Al and u know wat ur talkin about ……. the giants and the dolphins sold out in england a few years back does that make it a success after NFL europe shit the bed…….. wwe would sell 50 thousand at cowboys stadium too that place is ridiculous

keep being force fed by Dana
boxing ppv #’s are greater then out favorite sport
boxers get paid a hell of a lot more then our favorite fighters
boxing isn’t what it used to be but as long as the old guys that love it don’t die off and the mainstream keeps it in a better light then out sport its going to beat it (as of now)
and wtf about wwe and the nfl? wwe has better #’s then our sport too in terms of ppv buys
either way boxing is coasting and mma is on the rise – hopefully we pass it one day
I usually don’t spell it out for guys on this site because it’s like talking to a bunch of 15 year olds
and I guarantee you our homeboy markito didnt even buy the fight did ya?

Actually markito, it does make it a somewhat success, but we don’t know the true numbers of actual Euros there, how many people that showed up to the game where either Dolphin or Giants diehards? How many people there are service members stationed somewhere in Europe? But that game had nothing to do with NFL-E or World League, it was just an attempt to create a more worldwide audience for American Football.
NFL-E/World League was just horrible in terms of talent, whereas boxing has and always will have mainstream worldwide appeal, and MMA is quickly gaining popularity worldwide like boxing had in the past. I don’t think any of us would have thought about watching UFC coming out of the UK, Germany, Australia, or UAE a few years ago.
