CFFC 5 Results: Kimbo Slice Defeats Ray Mercer By Submission

Kimbo comes out to “This Is Why I’m Hot” with the crowd cheering loudly. Kimbo gets the early takedown, Mercer gets back up. Both fighters land some strikes in the clinch, Kimbo secures the Guillotine Choke and Mercer taps quickly. Kimbo calls out Tank Abbot for his next fight. Tank is in the audience and approaches the outside of the cage, both fighter are excited like two pitbulls on different sides of a fence.

I agree this fight was a setup. Tank Abbot would be another lamb to the slaughter because he has lost a step from his prime.

Kimbo is too old to learn jujitsu and compete at the top. He is a tough SOB, but there are other people that are just like him waiting for their shot. Make your money as a spectacle, but I don’t see him being a serious challenge for the top contenders.
