Riggs has been plagued with back injuries throughout his career.

Joe Riggs on his injury:

“I felt fire shoot down my right leg….I was like, I’m done. I’m done; I can’t do anything…I thought I was paralyzed.”

“I’m pulling my hair out over this thing, it’s embarrassing….I’m not trying to disrespect the guy, but he had no business beating a guy like me.”

Joe Riggs had a clause in his contract that will grant him an immediate rematch with Cory Devela, here is what Riggs had to say about their rematch:

“I vow my career on it; it will be a total, complete ass whooping”

Comments

  1. you could tell he was hurt more than just the slam alone, i hope he can even fight again one day.

  2. hell yeah and i hope he comes back stronger not weaker

  3. Yeah the Riggs seems like a great guy and fighter I hope he gets back to 100%.

  4. it was a tough break but riggs has to give it up to the guy for controlling both arms and getting a pretty damn good hip toss. i hope riggs proves what he says, rehabs well, then rematches devela.
