Jessica Penne versus Naho Sugiyama for Invicta FC 3 Title Bout

Invicta Fighting Championships has announced its main fighters for their third event; it will be a headliner between Jessica Penne and Naho Sugiyama. The third Invicta FC is made up of 13 fights with a special match between two bantamweights Shayna Baszler and Sarah D’Alelio.

Jessica Penne and Naho Sugiyama are not new to the cage. Jessica Penne is 29 years old from Laguna Hills, California, USA. She is an atomweight with 9 wins and 1 loss in her career. Penne has been unbeatable in her two past matches with her recent win against Lisa Ellis at the Invicta FC 1 “Coenen versus Ruyssen” in April. She also beat Amy Davis in The Cage Inc.  – Battle at the Border in November 2010. Her only loss was against Zoila Gurgel at the Bellator Fighting Championships 25 in August 2010 via unanimous decision. Prior to her loss to Gurgel, she had 7 consecutive wins against so many impressive women fighters.

Naho Sugiyama on the other hand is a 34 year old atomweight from Kyoto, Kyoto, Japan. She has a perfect 8 win, 0 loss record beating Japanese fighters like Madoka Ebihara, Megumi Morioka, Yasuko Tamada, Ayumi Saito and many more. Her latest victory was against Yasuko Tamada in Jewels – 19th Ring in May via majority decision in the second round.

“Sugi Rock” will surely be a perfect match for Penne as they meet on October 2, 2012 at Memorial Hall in Kansas City, Kansas, USA. Invicta FC 3 will also feature Barb Honchak, Tara LaRosa, Leslie Smith, Julia Budd and Michelle Waterson as they fight amazing women fighters like Aisling Daly, Vanessa Porto, Cat Zingano, Elaina Maxwell and Lacey Shuckman. Final confirmation of the main card was made Tuesday morning.

The co-main event fight between Shayna Baszler and Sarah D’Alelio is also a match up waiting to explode. “The Queen of Spades” Baszler is a bantamweight from Sioux Falls, South Dakota, USA with a 14 win and 7 loss record. Her latest match however was a loss to Sara McMann in Invicta FC 2 main event via unanimous decision. Sarah “The Monster” D’Alelio is a 31 year old bantamweight from Olympia, Washington, USA. She has an impressive 6 wins and 2 losses record with her latest win against Vanessa Porto in Invicta FC 2 “Baszler versus McMann in July. She leashed out a reverse triangle armbar to end the match in just 3 minutes and 15 seconds in round 1.
