Jason Day Injured, Will Not Face Jason Lambert at UFC 88 (Updated)

According to MMAWeekly, Canadian Jason Day has been forced to withdraw from his fight at UFC 88 against Jason Lambert, due to a elbow and bicep injury suffered while training. Day is scheduled to have an MRI to determine the extent of the injury that will keep him out of action on Sept. 6th.

The fight was scheduled to take place at 185lbs and slated the preliminary card.

Lambert was dropping down to 185lbs. to fight Day after suffering two strait loses in the cage.

No word on a replacement to fight Jason Lambert, but it is believed that the UFC is actively trying to find a fight.

UPDATE: Shedog is reporting that Jason MacDonald will step up to the plate and face Jason Lambert.
