Every time I bring in a new fan I show them some of the best ground matches and that's what sells them on the sport. The technique and the chess like intelligence it takes to win on the ground is what sells my friends and family. 80% of MMA stand-up is embarrassing to watch, it's at an amateur level still. When everyone has the ability to stand with Anderson Silva, and survive, or at least stand with BJ, then I will be interested in the stand-up of MMA. Are you kidding? Sure it was big back then but after that fght and eason of the first TUF it has been nothing but great for the UFC. Geting bigger and bigger and has gained a lot of fans because of the stand up war and no ground war could have ever done that.
