Fedor: No Interest In The UFC, Possible 4-6 More Fights With Strikeforce

M-1 Global,

“The relationship between ourselves, Strikeforce, and Showtime is a good one … For now M-1 Global works with Strikeforce and we are concentrating on that, the contract is not over yet. So for now we don’t have any interest in the UFC. So far I feel very comfortable fighting, very good with my fighting, and I’m planning of fighting as long as I can physically. As far and I’m concerned we should discuss the possibility of signing another contract for 4-6 fights.”

M-1 updates us on what is up next for Fedor Emelianenko and Strikeforce.

Comments

  1. I am a Fedor supporter and fan but at least right now, there are not 4 to 6 fights for him Strikeforce. Unless he continues to lose, the only fights for him in Strikeforce, that are worthwhile, are Overeem and a rematch with Werdum. Strikeforce better sign more, and talented, not crappy, HWs.

  2. I agree bear, 2 fights there, unless bobby laskley stops being a pussy and actually fights someone and proves himself I would say thats it, maybe another rematch with rogers. but outside of those 2 big maybe 3 fights I wouldnt even be interested

  3. Muay Thai says:

Who cares about this guy? He's old news

  4. other derek says:

the ufc doesn't even want him after his loss…. no point….good stay in strikeforce…don't care hope you lose every fight

  5. im not even a fedor fan but if you are going to bring him into the mix in the ufc, i'll watch it everytime. i don care if he lost, coutures lost like 10 times you still watch his fights

  6. CobraClutch - The RE says:

He lost. The UFC has ZERO interest in him, either. With Anderson Silva almost losing, the really need to focus on the up-and-comers. The ww title will be wrapped up in "controllers" for the next year, with GSP, Kos, and Fitch all fighting for the belt. The faux fans who don't like ground fighting won't like that, so they will be focusing on Lesnar fighting Cain and Dos Santos. What's Fedor got that the UFC wants right now? He's no longer considered P4P best after getting subbed by Werdum in like 2 mins. Fedor is also only known amongst the hardcore MMA fans, not the general public, so there's no real added benefit to having him in the UFC as far as the investment in him goes. Especially now that it won't be best vs. best anymore. Fedor will never fight in the UFC, and I don't even really care anymore. There's so many more interesting things to talk about.

Like…..the fucking stalker bitch who is STEALING MY NAME and posting on me here. Fucking troll tool.

But it's a compliment, and really shows how much you girls really miss me. :)

(Watch, I bet that fucking stalker steals THIS name, too, to keep trying to be me…and you girls wonder why I go elsewhere these days. Losers.) But it's all good. You can keep my dick in your mouths longer if you like the taste that much. :)

  7. P4P #1 Fan says:

I am a fan. It is unfortunate that his loss was not to a better fighter. Anyone can be caught on any day but to lose to Werdum was devestating for his image. I have to admit that since his loss, he has said some dumb things, like that BJJ is nothing special, that he wants a rematch instead of going after the belt VS Overeem when, while whether he deserves it or not, Strikeforce wanted him to do, and today stating that he has no interest in the UFC. He has already made that clear in the past by not signing with them. Why repeat yourself?

Fedor- forget talking and get back on track!

  8. No one on the planet would want to see a Rogers vs Fedor rematch. The only thing to look forward to now is Overeem.

I love Fedor, but another 4 to 6 fights with Strikeforce makes no sense…

  9. I agree with cobra clutch on this one. Except for the dick in my mouth part. I do NOT want his dick in my mouth. But I think everything he said about Fedor's relationship with the UFC is spot on. Now I think it is official that it will never happen.

  10. Yeah i can honestly say that, since he lost, I'm really not interested in him being in the ufc. Call me a shallow fight fan or whatever, but his whole mystique was based on the fact that he could pull off any fight, no matter if he got rocked or just went in and dominated.

Now that that's gone, I don't really care anymore. He's just another human fighter. He doesn't pull of a lot of crazy shit, like anderson's, jon jones', or Jose Aldo's striking, and he doesn't dominate the ground with insane wrestling skill like gsp. He's just no longer an exciting fighter for me to watch.

  11. lyoto machidas done, he lost one fight, i dont want to watch him anymore.

  12. I love that…"I am not interested in UFC…" yeah, and since I have three kids, an acl replacement, have aged a decade, gotten fatter…I am no longer interested in that hot 21 year old chick from the gym. What a joke! What sour grapes! Yeah, um, great timing Affraidor. I'm sure Zuffa is just green with envy now that they cant have you…later all gone, bitterness all set in, talking about how bjj isn't anything. You spent the last 5 years ducking the most dangerous fights, then lose to werdumwhile trying too disprove what most already believed…passed his prime. Enjoy the-farce.

  13. Interesting takes on both sides.

I tend to lean toward Fedor, just because he was the man for so long. but it all comes down to Overeem. Should Fedor trounce him in his typical honorary and chainsaw like fashion, then I must take issue with anyone that thinks he is over the hill or scared of serious competition.

The most troubling aspect for me today was his reaction to losing to Werdum. In the past Fedor was always resolute in his honor to the sport and to his opponents. Now, this new attitude of excuses and little to no regard for Werdum's skill is hopefully not a part of this man's future dealings with loss or otherwise.

  14. the man I remember when couture lost to brock and everyone said he was finished and past his prime. All I am saying is don't underestimate the guy and I would muhc rather watch him fight than another jon fitch snoozefest. People are so quick to turn on fighters one loss and hes done lost it for good. for the last 2 years I've listened to every guy on this site give fedor virtual handjobs and now all the sudden hes done…. fickle.

  15. and i clearly went another direction with that first sentence, nice grammer before one of you gets me.

  16. SteveO, I've believed Fedor to be past his prime for a long time, now. WHO has he fought, that has been any real and serious danger to his legacy, over the last 5 years?! A punch drunk AA? Not really. Now, with this dismissal of how he lost and utter disrespect for both Werdum (not giving him the credit and dissing bjj) and Overeem (not wanting to fight him-scared?-mos' def!)…just shows that He doesn't have it and might be feeling his years in the ring coming down on him. After the loss to werdum, in the ring, he was very respectful, why the reversal now? Classless, especially to a guy who, if he didn't snap your arm, would've put you to sleep! Stay in the Farce….refuse to fight the more dangerous fighter, of which Overeem would be for Fedor, and enjoy your new plateau of mediocrity!
