Even Dana White Is Tired Of AKA’s Teammate vs Teammate Policy

UFC President Dana White wants to squash this whole “we won’t fight our friends” policy that some fighters have. At the post fight press conference, Dana White jokingly responds to Fitch’s refusal to fight fellow teammate Josh Koscheck, with “Then you don’t really want a title shot”.

  1. He is right . Its not a team sport. They can compete with each other and still be friends after they compete.

  2. I understand good friends not wanting to fight each other but team mates are just colleagues with the same goal and it creates a disadvantage in camp if you cant fight each other. Once one of them win the title the others may as well not train anymore cause what would they be training for if not going for the title?

Like say Swick had beat hardy then beat GSP that would have meant that Fitch and Koscheck wouldnt be able to fight for the title. Its a stupid policy.

  3. I think Dana pretty much laid it out there. If you don't start fighting the guys we make fights with, your not getting a title shot. I like it.

  4. i agree total b.s. shut up and fight ..

  5. If it was as simple as that I'd agree with everyone but in

my opinion, Dana has ulterior motives.

Ever since Dana fired Fitch for not agreeing to sign away his

likeness for NOTHING so zuffa could sell a video game and

make money on Fitch's back (and every other UFC fighter for that matter)

Ever since Lorenzo hired John back, it's been pretty obvious that Dana has had it in for him.

  6. fighters need to stop bullshitting themselves. there is only one champion… UNO. if jon fitch wants to be champ, he has to fight his way to be champ. and once he is champ, he has to defend against top contenders. kochek is currently one of them. fitch will have to fight koscheck one way or another, whether for the title or to defend against. same thing with anderson silva. him and machida are good buddies, but their styles are completely different. anderson has amazing striking, but machida is a master at eluding punches. either or, great fighters have to fight each other somehow.

  7. derek did u jsut say caul uno is the champ? lol jk man ahah

  8. CobraClutch says:

The Lauzon brothers said they would fight each other…and they're brothers. These guys need to be professionals and suck it up. Paul Gasol has to play his brother in basketball. Tiki and Ronde Barber went hard on each other when they played. Don't be a fighter if you don't want to fight.

  9. Alvan Dal says:

Bottonline if you won't climb over "anybody" to get your title shot , you just don't want it bad enough.

  10. you would think the money alone if you win the belt would be worth saying, hey man lets do this, either way one of us is champ I would rather a guy from my gym be champ than some other dude.

  11. I dont get it. Your friends, so what? Go out and make some huge money together and get a title shot, it's that simple. There are alot of guys at Welterweight waiting for the chance, but with AKA all towards the top, they are blocking everyone else from moving up the rankings.

I have seen family members face each other in other sports (Rio and Anton Ferdinand play against each other at least twice a year), and it's not like Fitch and Kos have never punched each other in the face before, it's just this time it will be for money.
