EliteXC News: Nick Diaz Hospitalized For Staph Infection

By CagE | September 24, 2007

nick diaz

According to GracieFighter.com, Nick Diaz was admitted to a hospital after the EliteXC fight in Hawaii for Staph infection.

“I felt pretty crappy in my match in Hawaii but I figured it was jet lag or maybe something I had eaten the night before. When I left Hawaii the next day I was getting chills and had to be covered with several blankets on the plane but I just kept having cold sweats. By the time I got to Vegas the infection had ballooned up and so I went to the hospital to have it checked out. They admitted me and I’ve been here ever since”.

He did look a little sluggish in his fight. I just thought it was his first fight back & maybe was a little nervous. I’m glad he pulled that fight off. Atta boy Nick. GET WELL SOON!

Yeah, I thought he looked slow and like he was just sparring. I didnt know what was going on. Then Jude, did you happen to hear his interviews after the fight. I think Sherdog asked him one question, something like “do you think you didnt perform well in this fight and do you think you won?” He went into a 15 minute ramble that was just all over the place. It was funny to hear though.

I heard that. He always rambles on like he has something to say but never really gets to the point. Weird dude but I love to watch him fight. Those little punches he throws just killes me, I’m like “hit the dude already!’, but by the end of the fight, you can see the damage he’s done to the guys face. I use to get so mad ’cause a lot of his fights would go to the judges & I think he was cheated out of a few wins. Glad that didn’t happen this time.
He did say he wasn’t feeling right, but he thought it was the long trip to Hawaii that did it, NOW he knows what it was. Just happy he pulled it off.
