According to ProElite.com, UFC veteran Ken Shamrock and his son Ryan Shamrock have signed a multi-fight contract with EliteXC. The father and son duo will debut under the EliteXC promotion at Cage Rage 25 on March 8 from the Wembley Arena in London, England.

EliteXC president Gary Shaw:

“We’re thrilled to have signed Ken and Ryan Shamrock,’’

UFC Veteran Ken Shamrock:

I’m totally committed to returning to the cage injury free and anxious about fighting in England for the first time…….It is very exciting for both Ryan and I. We will be making MMA history by being the first father and son to ever fight on the same card.

This is a great opportunity we are getting with EliteXC. Give me a fight or two and I will be ready to fight anybody.

Ryan Shamrock (1-0):

I think I am more excited than nervous about fighting on the same card with my dad. If anything, it gives me more incentive. I get the chance to show that there is another Shamrock out there who can compete as well as he can.

Wow! Shamrock isn't that bad for his age compared to my dad maybe, but he is no Randy Couture by any standards. Ken Shamrock fighting is like a novelty fight or something, but he may have better matchups in a blossoming organization like Elite XC who have few names, hence where he comes into play. I think he should just stick to coaching, but then again if I were him I would like to retire without my last fight being getting my ass handed to me also. Hopefully it works out for him.

  2. yeah i hope he gets some wins and damn they both look like they take roids..

  3. Patrick89 says:

Yeah, is that picture recent? he looks alot better than when he fought Tito when he was hoppin around with those saggy man titties. If he was on roids I would let him get away with it I mean isn't he half android anyway?

  4. no, the pic was from a magazine centerfold awhile back. that asian dude is huge also.

  5. shamrock may do alright in a smaller league, i wonder when there going to fight each other in the ring.

  6. it looks like the asian dude is fucking him in the butt….hard ahah! But really i wish shamrock would retire, i think hes lost a lot of his skills in his old age

  7. Maybe he can start up the first MMA organization for seniors lol. His son is skinny which is pretty funny considering Ken has always been a big guy. But I think the level of comp at EliteXC right now is not as tough as the UFC so Ken might still be competitive there.

  8. elite is starting to look better(not the ken signing) it will be interesting to see how they do in the next couple of years.

  9. dane drebin says:

i just hope ken doesnt make a fool out of himself i liked him a lot in his prime and his fued… never mind his beatings by tito really hurt him. a lot of the new mma fans jsut think he's some bum but he really use to be something special and i would love to see him retire on a win.

  10. I think ken will actually do well there. He wont be facing the same level of competition. At least for a while.

  11. I think that Shamrock will do well after his first 1-2 fights. Hence why they signed him to a multifight contract. Shaw knows that he has to shake some of the cage rust. But from what I hear Shamrock is doing overtime in training. This is going to be a whole different Shamrock. He will have a rebirth like Randy Couture did. His son will do great here cause of the lack of comp in his weight class. Hes a great submissions expert. Just keep you eyes on Kimbo Slice though.. hes the one that will dominate Elite. MARK MY WORDS!!! Kimbo Slice will be the man to look out for.

  12. kimbo vs ken

  13. Ken got fans.just like Tank.EliteXc WAnts fans.plain and simple.

  14. Look, yes shamrock is not as good as he once was but in all honesty he put MMA on his back and was one of the fore runners in making it mainstream. Elite XC is giving him a chance and like you said he will bring the fans. He deserves a chance at the least and i think he will deliver.

  15. My hats off to Ken for still fighting, it still takes alot of nerve to get in the ring after several beatings!!Good luck Ken.

  16. Kentucky says:

While I hope that Ken wins his fights I worry about age catching up to him! If memory serves he was forty two when he fought Frye! Personally I think Ken could be a really good Trainer and hope he trains/coaches his boy to success!
