EliteXC News: Brothers Frank Shamrock vs. Ken Shamrock Possible For April

After the whole Kimbo Slice incident, EliteXC is at it again looking to promote a Bro vs. Bro, Frank and Ken Shamrock event, possibly in April of 2009. The two adopted brothers have been at odds with each other, at least in public, for years now, making the fight a logical progression in the two veteran fighters careers.
Frank Shamrock told ESPN:
“We’ve both signed a contract to fight each other … Ken is down with it. We talked about it two years ago, and we’ve agreed materially to fight.”
“Will the fight happen? Absolutely”
“The fight has a cool hook … Brothers beating each other up. Everyone wants to see that.”
Elite XC head of operations Jeremy Lappen:
“They’re talking about doing it and we’re interested in the fight … It’s a storyline everyone can relate to, Cain versus Abel.”

This is turning into the f’ing WWE. I am ashamed to be a fan of MMA right now with all this BS going on.
Thank god the UFC is still keeping it legit. Say what you want to about Brock Lesnar, but at least the UFC isn’t throwing any tomato cans at him.
EliteXC and all these other BS promotions are ruining the sport.

Affliction is decent, arlovski vs fedor is a better heavyweight fight than ufc can provide at this moment

Frank will finish Ken in the first round. It’s not that dramatic of a stroy. Everyone knows it will happen.

i agree zalbag the ufc can’t compete with affliction in the hw department, and the only promotion that is trash is elite.

I agree TR this is a no brainer. Frank will dominate Ken on the ground and def in standing. Just shows the weakness of Elite when they have to promote this as a big fight…but i will still watch lol

I hope they beat each other to to death I have had enough of these guys, and ELITEXC. AFFLICTION is the only other quality organization who is currently a legitimate player to compete with UFC.

ken is washed up but frank can still compete and i enjoy watching him fight. id way rather see lawler vs frank or frank vs vitor than this stupid ass fight

only a bullshit promotion like EliteXC would contemplate an idea like this , sounds like a last resort for ratings. too bad Affliction would partner with such a crapy organization.
