EliteXC CBS Show Dubbed “Unfinished Business” Set For July 26

According to SI’s Josh Gross, EliteXC will set return to CBS Primetime on July 26th with a show dubbed “Unfinished Business”, possibly in St. Louis. The card will be headlined by the anticipated rematch of Robbie Lawler and Scott Smith for the EliteXC welterweight title.

According to EliteXC Vice President Jared Shaw, Shields’ opponent for the newly created 170-pound title will be determined this week. Potential challengers include International Fight League champion Jay Hieron, former Bodog champ Nick Thompson, or the recently motivated Paul Daley.

Shields was in line to fight Drew Fickett for the vacant title before injuries nixed the bout. If Silva appears on the card (it’s not a guarantee that he will, right now) he could face IFL heavyweight champion Roy Nelson, or Robert “Buzz” Berry, who knocked out Ken Shamrock in March.

Unfinished Business, which appears destined for St. Louis, may also feature women’s MMA again as Shayna Baszler-Kelly Kobald is being discussed as potential follow-up to the first card’s Gina Carano-Kaitlin Young bout.

Rumored Fight Card

Robbie Lawler vs. Scott Smith
Antonio “Big Foot” Silva vs. TBA (Roy Nelson, Robert Berry)
Jake Shields vs. TBA (Jay Hieron, Nick Thompson, Paul Daley)
Shayna Baszler vs. Kelly Kobald

  1. this might be a good one, lawler vs smith if its anything like there first fight should be great, shields vs any of those goys would be good and big foot vs nelson would be a good fight as well.

  2. robbie all the way..

i hope roy and jay get there fights..

  3. so the IFL is over

  4. the ifl is done. they cancelled all of their upcomming events. i think thompson is going to step in and fight jake shields.

  5. idk i hate the ifl hahah

  6. i liked the ifl but i will be happy to see some of there better fighters moving on and facing some tougher comp.it will be interesting.

  7. yeah true but idk i think the IFL top guys still arent that great

  8. theres a couple and a few of them are still young and have room to improve.

  10. Anderson*

  11. Yeah IFL wasnt great but they did have some very good fighters in every weight class. I didnt really like the whole team thing too much though. MMA is such a one on one sport it just kinda didnt go with the whole MMA persona. I mean I know they didnt have like tag team matches and all (ha could you imagine) but just didnt like that aspect of this circuit.

  12. that is a sick fight. i didn't realize how big anderson was until this past weekend when he cornered his friend in the elite hawaii event. it looked like he wasn't concerned with keeping his weight down at all. i should have known he was planning a 205 fight.

  13. this could be good if elitexc had nothing to do with it. they suck and shaw is a fat fuck with a product thats not about mma and more about glam and there superstar Kimbo Slice. its wcw all over again. fuckin nitro girls even. people make fun of dana for shit but at least his product is pure
