Johnson who has been a longtime NFL and NCAA basketball sports announcer for CBS, will take charge of the play-by-play duties.
Johnson replaces heavily criticized announcer and veteran professional wrestler Bill Goldburg.

I’ll just wait and see. Don’t you have to know something about a sport to do play-by-play (referring to Johnson)? Say what you will, but there is no beating Joe Rogan for MMA announcer. He knows the sport and the fighters inside and out, and he brings excitement to it in a way that none of the other knowledgable guys do.

Frank Trigg’s not so bad as an announcer either. Kenny Florian impressed me as well, commentating in the last UFC.
