DREAM 5 Video: Shinya Aoki vs. Joachim Hansen

After a dream run to the top of the DREAM lightweight grand prix tournament, Eddie Alvarez was unfortunately unable to compete in the finale against Aoki, due to a closed right eye he suffered in his earlier win.

Alternate fighter Joachim Hansen, who was eliminated earlier in the tournament by Alvarez, defeated Aoki by landing a leaping right hand to the downed fighter.

I agree roy. I'll admit, the last 20 minutes of Dream 5 gave me chills. From the interview with Eddie up till the final award given to Hansen. That was some good stuff…

  4. aoki doesn't seem to take punches well. i'm glad jansen saw the gogoplata setup and got out before aoki sank it in. yeah dream is a good show. this last weekend was dynamite for mma.

  5. Great performance from Joachim: he seems to be growing professionally in every bout I see him. And that's not to say that he wasn't one of the top strikers already back in 2004 when he fought for Pride.

  6. Yeah Dream5 was pretty damn good I thought too.

But I didn't like how Alvarez didn't get to fight Aoki but he seemed happy that Joachim won in hes place.

  7. why not be happy for him if you can't fight, a guy won that you already beat so makes him look kind of good and he should get the first shot at him.

  8. richaaron says:

It's gonna be one helluva rematch…
