Chuck Liddell Still Has Eyes Set On UFC Title

Former UFC light heavyweight champion Chuck Liddell is on a mission to prove he still has the skills to crawl back into the UFC title picture.

“I don’t think I have anything to prove, but I would like to prove [White] wrong … I’ve just got to show him I can perform. If I perform, he’ll keep letting me fight.”

“At this point, I’d like another fight after (Ortiz) … Hopefully Dana’s happy with me if I get two wins, and I’d like a shot at a contender and then a shot at the the title. That’s four fights.” [MMAJunkie]

Can Liddell give up his diet of dancing, nachos and strippers to prove that he is still the King of the UFC 205 lbs. weight class?

Don’t miss Chuck as coach of the eleventh season of The Ultimate Fighter, set to debut on March 31st.

  1. Oswald Gobblecock says:

Chuck needs to let it go cause he'll never come close to getting the belt back. Chuck used to be my fav fighter but even Chuck in his prime wasn't good enough to beat some of the guys at 205 now.

  2. sploogesplatter says:

chuck is going to lose to ortiz and then couture this year

he is a bum and always has been even in his prime he beat bums

chuck was good in the early ufc days because nobody knew how to fight and he was just the better of the weak talent at the time

  3. thats what dose my head in about chuck if he wants to fight why dont he just concentrate on getting back in there and having a fight instead of having his head in the clouds about getting the title back, wich by the way he still says he wants his title back

  4. icefighter says:

Sploogesplatter you obviously know nothing of MMA or the history of chucks fights in the UFC… you say he has only beat bums…seriously?? Randy Couture twice, Tito Ortiz twice possible three times, Vitor Belfort, Jeremy Horn, Pedro Izzo and so many more if those guys are bums idk what your watching…. Dont speak unless u actually know a little info on what our talking about…wow

  5. Chuck was a great fighter most of the time during pride he was one of the best. But when he got to the UFC he really became one dimensional and went away with the kickboxing and wrestling, which ultimetly lead to his demise in the UFC. With such the athletes we have today in the sport Chuck can not just stand and bang with them as he will KTFO…chuck is weak for KO's and needs to elevate his gameplan back to wear he was dominate in Pride. For record Rampage will always have Chucks number just like i fully think Liddell has Ortiz number not to mention i really dont like Ortiz. If chuck loses this fight he is DONE and should RETIRE. He is not Couture as that man is just a conditioning freak which we all know Liddell doesnt really condition himself to the best he could. Overall i think Liddell has had a great career and deserves the respect but there is a time to call it quits and i do not believe Liddell can keep up with todays athletes, he needs to change his gameplan back to the pride days in order to be successfull going forward.

  6. Hey Tim,

Your a bit of an idiot, if you follow UFC and pride you'll know Chuck rarely fought in pride, Rampage and Alistair Overeem, and Guy Mezger. That's a total of three fights in pride, so how did he dominate pride? He was way more dominant in the UFC, than in Pride you whackjob. If Chuck loses to Tito, then he should retire, but he won`t Tito is more washedup then Chuck is. Chuck won`t get a title shot, but he may just get a couple more wins.

  7. The only fights Chuck could have worth watching is, Ortiz because he has no striking, he's a ass and people like 2 see him get hit. Forrest G, because he has no KO power and it would be a war till the end. Couture battle of legends. The last guy i could see him fight, is Kimbo Slice. I think kimbo would win by KO but it would be a huge fight, Chuck the belt is in Machidas hands give it up, and that divisions is stacked Rampage, Shogun, Evans, Bones Jones, give it up Chuck you had a great run.
