Strikeforce light heavyweight champion Gegard Mousasi will take on Rameau Thierry Sokoudjou in a non-title fight on the CBS portion of Strikeforces “Fedor vs Rogers”.

“I think me and Mayhem match up for a nice and exciting fight,”

“I think he’s an extremely talented fighter. He’s got a little size on me, and he’s extremely well-rounded,” added the Cesar Gracie trained combatant. “He can fight from anywhere and he always comes in shape.”

“Being ground fighters, being on top in MMA is usually an advantage. Wrestling would definitely be an advantage, but I feel Mayhem has a little bit underestimated wrestling … His wrestling is actually pretty good. I think he’s definitely capable of taking me down and I think I’m definitely capable of standing with him too, so this fight could take place anywhere.”

“I spar with the best fighters in the world no problem, but people want to bash my stand-up … I’m not going to let (the criticism) force me to play into someone else’s game to try and prove myself.”

“I think my stand-up is way underrated, but I’m not going to try to prove something to show these idiots that I can stand.”

“My grappling is my strongest point. I work my stand up all the time. I knockout people all the time in training, but that’s training … I figure I’ll save the stand-up for when I need it and work to put it toward the ground and play to my strength. There’s no reason for me to try to prove anything to show anyone. I’ll stand-up when I need it, but the ground is my strength … We trained a couple of times together. As much as I want to see Jake Shields test his stand up and quiet Jason Mayhem Miller, a fast pace technical ground battle between the two, might just be what the Strikeforce “Fedor vs Rogers” main card needs.

Shields and Mayhem will be fighting for the vacant Strikeforce middleweight belt at Strikeforce “Fedor vs Rogers” this Saturday in Chicago.

We finally get a glimpse at where Fedor Emelianenko lays his head. A film crew for showtime makes the trip to Stary Oskol, Russia.

Top Heavyweight fighters Fedor Emelianenko and Brett Rogers take on a Chicago Bears game to publicize there fight next Saturday. The two arrived in Chicago to prepare for there heavyweight battle at Strikeforce “Fedor vs Rogers” on Nov. 7 from the Sears Centre Arena in Chicago, IL.

Showtime features the mystical character that is Fedor Emelianenko in this latest preview commercial for the Strikeforce “Fedor vs Rogers” on CBS.

Former WEC bantamweight Jeff Curran (29-12-1) finds a temporary home with Strikeforce, signing a two fight non-exclusive contract with the MMA promotion.

“At this point, it doesn’t matter, … I am going to fight my ass off to finish the fight as soon as possible.”

“My ultimate goal is to be returning to the WEC. Strikeforce has no intentions on building the 135-pound weight division much, so it doesn’t make a good fit for me. However, being able to go from WEC to Strikeforce is great in that I can stay on big shows … After these two fights, assuming they are wins, I will begin to see if WEC will have me back sooner than later”[MMAweekly]

The 135lb. Curran will have to jump up a couple of weight classes in order to compete as a lightweight.

No opponent has been named for the Chicago native. He last fought at WEC 42, losing a close split decision to Takeya Mizugaki.
