Cung Le might finally return to fighting to take on former UFC fighter Scott “Hands of Steel” Smith at Strikeforce: Evolution on December 19th in San Jose, CA.

FanHouse confirmed Le has verbally agreed to the fight. Scott Smith at Friday’s Strikeforce Challengers denied any knowledge of the fight, but agreed that would be a great fight for him.

Le (5-0) a San Jose native won the Strikeforce middleweight belt by defeating Frank Shamrock at Strikeforce: Shamrock vs Le. After acting obligations forced le to not defend his title in over a year, he agreed to vacate the Strikeforce belt. Jason Mayhem Miller and Jake Shields will be competing tonight for that vacated belt.

Smith (16-6) is coming off a submission loss to Nick Diez earlier this year at Strikeforce: Lawler vs Shields.

On the eve of Strikeforce “Fedor vs Rogers”, Strikeforce today confirmed Ronaldo ‘Jacare’ Souza will take on Matt “The Law” Lindland at its next major event dubbed “Evolution” on Dec. 9th. from the HP Pavilion in San Jose, CA.

The Law (21-6) looks to return to fighting after being knocked out cold by Vitor Belfort at Affliction 2 “Day of Reckoning” earlier this year.

Undefeated former NCAA collegiate wrestler Muhammed “King Mo” Lawal is also expected to make his Strikeforce debut on the card.

Looks like Mirko Cro Cop will stay true to his word and finish his current UFC contract. The Croatian fighter is expected to take on “Big” Ben Rothwell on the main card of UFC 110 on Feb. 20 at the Acer Arena in Sydney, Australia.

Cro Cop (25-7-2) is coming off a disappointing verbal submission loss to Junior dos Santos at UFC 103. He continues to state that a mental block is the reason preventing him from being the great fighter he was in PRIDE and has since seeked psychiatric therapy.

Rothwell (30-7) was welcomed into the UFC by heavyweight contender Cain Velasquez at UFC 104. The former IFL standout was floored by a fire storm of punches from Velasquez, forcing Steve Mazagatti to step in and halt the fight at 0:58 of the second round. The stoppage was met with criticizing from fans and well as Rothwell who stated, “I was climbing back to my feet and unless he drops me or my eyes roll back in my head, the fight shouldn’t be stopped in that situation,”

Its a no go for Brock Lesnar vs Shane Carwin at UFC 108. Apparently Brock Lesnar has a case of mono.

Guys my manager Jason Genet just told me that UFC 108 is not happening. Brock has Mono and what the UFC has told me is that I have earned the title shoot but I have to wait for the title holder. [ShaneCarwin]

Lesnar pulled out of their fist scheduled meeting at UFC 106 after being sidelined with a mysterious illness.

Not all bad news, the Brazilian site Tatame is reporting that a heavyweight matchup between Antonio Rodrigo Nogueria is currently being discussed.

Brazilian Rodrigo “Minotauro” Nogueira was rumored to fight the loser of the title fight between Brock Lesnar and Shane Carwin, but the postponement of the bout forced the UFC to change the plans …. Nogueira’s manager confirmed that the Brazilian will face the undefeated heavyweight Cain Velasquez at UFC 108

Don’t go getting your hopes up for a Machida vs Shogun rematch anytime soon,

Anderson Silva and Lyoto Machida’s manager Ed Soares:

“[Lyoto Machida] He had surgery yesterday on his left hand … The doctor said it was a complete success.”

“Lyoto can’t punch for at least six weeks, but most likely it will be about eight-to-ten weeks before he can start punching 100 percent. Most likely, he’ll be able to start training by mid-January.” [The Junkie]

Soares being the bearer of bad news also updates us that the Anderson Silva vs. Vitor Belfort fight at UFC 108 will not likely take place.

“The latest is he’s not fighting Jan. 2 … That’s not going to happen. He won’t be ready.”

“We have to wait and see … Anderson went back to Brazil, and he’s continuing his physical therapy there. But there’s no set date yet.”

“At the end of the day, it’s going to be a great fight,” Soares said. “Like I said before, I don’t think [Belfort] deserves a title shot, but that’s over with now. It is what it is.”

Former UFC fighter and Ultimate Fighter contestant War Machine, decided it was time to take on the Adult industry. War Machine posted on his Myspace blog that he was shooting a scene with porn vixen Riley Steele for a Digital Playground flick.

“So I said fuck it! I signed with La Direct Models this week and today I did my first porn scene! (laugh out loud) I shot for Digital Playground with their girl Riley Steele, was fucking awesome! I was nervous as shit but I came through. I’m still gonna fight, just gonna do this too because fighting isn’t quite enough money and you all know I ain’t trying to work! In life I have come to learn that all I enjoy is eating, sleeping, fighting and fucking! Fuck it! I’m living the dream, getting PAID to fight and fuck! What more could I ask for?” [War Machine]

War Machine also posted a video on Youtube of him getting his ass shaved by Riley Steele in preparation for there scene together. The video was quickly removed for Terms of Use violations, but the shoot apparently went well, he later Twittered,

Mission accomplished! 2nd scene went even further than the 1st! God I love my life!

War Machine has caused a lot of controversy with his mouth. He was booted from the UFC after making controversial comments about deceased UFC fighter Evan Tanners death. He also spat out ignorant comments about President Barack Obama during the election and frequently talks about “Terrorizing” chicks.

War Machine went 5-0 after being kicked out of the UFC, but most recently lost a close split decision to David Mitchell at Tachi Palace Fights “Most Wanted”.

Top Heavyweight fighters Fedor Emelianenko and Brett Rogers take on a Chicago Bears game to publicize there fight next Saturday. The two arrived in Chicago to prepare for there heavyweight battle at Strikeforce “Fedor vs Rogers” on Nov. 7 from the Sears Centre Arena in Chicago, IL.

Bad day for fans. First Thiago Alves withdraws from his fight with Jon Fitch and now Kurt Pellegrino injuries his back, forcing him out of his TUF 10 Finale fight with Frankie Edgar.

Edgar first broke the news on his twitter account,

Pelligrino pulled. Stay tuned to see replacement

The injury has been confirmed, apparently Pellegrino suffered three herniated discs in his back.
