The UFC announced today, Quinton Rampage Jackson and Rashad Evans will finally face each other in the main event at UFC 114 on May 29th at MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas. The TUF 10 coaches were to meet following the conclusion of the reality show, but Jackson decided to take a relive from the sport to pursue acting opportunities. Jackson returns to face Rashad and to fulfill the remainder of his UFC contract.

UFC 114 is scheduled to coincide with the UFC fan expo and the release of UFC video game Undisputed 2010.

According to the Junkie, Striceforce has added professional wrestler and mixed martial artist Bobby Lashley (5-0) to its Strikeforce “Nashville” event on April 17.

No oppont has yet been named, but its hard to think Strikeforce will step up and give Lashley a creadible opponent, considering his last two opponents (Wes Sims and Bob Sapp) have been total tools.

One opponent I like to see Lashley face is fellow Strikeforce undefeated heavyweight Shane del Rosario (9-0). Rosario has been featured many times on Showtimes Challengers/ShoXC events and should be a good match for Lashley.

Good news DirecTV subscribers, Versus and DirecTV have kissed and made up. Versus will return to your regular tiered lineup, just in time for next weekends UFC on Versus 1 “Vera vs Jones”.

Bellator today announced the signing of former UFC lightweight Roger “El Matador” Huerta to there lineup of lightweights. He is expected to step in the cage at there lightweight tournament on April 8th from the Hollywood Hotel and Casino in Hollywood, FL.

If Roger Huerta advances in the second season of the lightweight tournament, he could likely meet up with season one champion Eddie Alvarez.

Bellator will air on a expanded network of broadcasters including: ESPN Deportes, NBC, FOX Sports Net, Telemundo and The Score.

The UFC has officially announced Kimbo Slice vs Matt Mitrione for UFC 113 on May 8 from the Bell Center in Montreal, Quebec Canada.

Former middleweight prospect Paulo Filho is taking a page from Mike Tyson by getting some new well placed tattoos. Check out this new face tattoo on Filho, it complements his flannel cut-off shirts, which he has been trying to bring into style for years now.

The UFC has signed 41 year old James “Lights Out” Toney to a multi-fight contract. The news comes with sharp criticism from fans and media, who think the UFC is taking that lower road, by putting on “Freak Shows”.

Toney has been very vocal in the media about wanting to join the UFC and has even gone so far as to hijack Dana White interviews at press events.

The backlash has prompted UFC President Dana White to defend the decision:

“To be 100 percent honest with you, all [expletive] aside, I haven’t thought it out. I like James Toney. He’s one of the greatest boxers ever. I have tremendous respect for him. He said he wanted to fight in the UFC and I was interested. Now he’s here and I have to figure out what to do with him. What we won’t do is make a freak show out of it. I’d be the first to scream if someone else did that, so I’m not going to do it. Hey, I don’t want this to be seen as a joke, and it’s not like Herschel Walker or Canseco or any of those guys. James Toney is a fighter. The worst thing anyone can ever say to me is that they were watching one of my fights and they changed the channel. That’s why I’ll never put [expletive] fights on. James is an interesting case. We know how much talent he has as a boxer and he insists he’ll surprise people by how much MMA he knows. I’ve still got some thinking to do … James came to me and he literally chased me around the country to do it, so I’m giving him the chance. We’ll get it figured out one way or another.” [Yahoo]
