Lyoto Machida vs. Randy Couture Full Fight Video

UFC 129 took place April 30, 2011. The card featured a light heavyweight showdown between two former UFC champions, Lyoto Machida and Randy Couture.

Round 1: Both fighters come out to the center. They circle each other trying to gauge the timing. Machida throws a straight jab that misses. Couture throws a jab of his own that misses. Couture pushes forward while Machida stays on the outside. Machida catches Randy coming in with a straight right.

Couture keeps moving forward while Lyoto counters on the outside. Machida looks extremely relaxed on the feet. Randy keeps his guard high and stays very cautious. Couture is the aggressor, constantly moving forward, but Machida is winning the exchanges.

Machida throws a straight left that lands, and Randy counters with a right. They clinch and throw punches at each other simultaneously. They separate and the battle continues. Couture continues to stalk Machida but hasn’t been able to do anything significant. Machida lands another quick 1, 2 punch combo while on the outside.

Randy looks determined not to let Machida overwhelm him, but seems puzzled on how to mount any offense. Meanwhile, Machida continues to pick Couture apart from the outside. Undaunted, Randy constantly moves forward. He is finally get his hands on Machida against the cage, but Lyoto immediately spins out of the position and backs away.

Couture moves in while Machida feints kicks on the outside. Randy gets a hold of Machida’s legs, but Lyoto is able to escape once again. The round ends with Randy stalking Machida in the center.

Round 2: They meet in the center once again. Randy starts moving forward immediately. Machida catches him with a straight left that drops Randy briefly. He gets back to his feet and continues to stalk Machida. Machida looks really comfortable standing and is throwing more strikes this round.

They face off in the center and Lyoto feints punches, then launches into the air with a flying front kick that drops Randy to the mat. Lyoto swarms him immediately and the ref steps right in to separate the two. Lyoto Machida defeats Randy Couture by KO in round 2.


Junior Dos Santos vs. Mirko Cro Cop Full Fight Video

UFC 103 took place on September 19, 2009. The card featured a heavyweight showdown between Junior Dos Santos and Mirko Cro Cop.

Round 1: Both fighters meet in the center and Dos Santos immediately throws a straight right that misses. Junior launches forward again and throws another right/left hook combo. He backs Cro Cop against the cage briefly. Cro Cop throws a hook of his own that misses and the two separate.

Cro Cop throws a leg kick that backs Junior up for a second, then Junior moves forward again, throwing constant jabs. Cro Cop tries a high head kick but misses the mark. Junior continues to come forward as Cro Cop circles on the outside. Junior catches Cro Cop against the cage and lands 4 or 5 hooks to the head.

Cro Cop shakes it off and they separate. Junior continues moving forward, constantly winging punches at Cro Cop. Junior is more the aggressor while Cro Cop is content circling on the outside. Cro Cop throws very few kicks in this round as Junior continues to swarm him. The round ends with both fighters in the center.

Round 2: Both fighters meet in the center, and Junior continues to be the aggressor. Cro Cop finally moves forward, but Junior is ready for him and moves Cro Cop back. Cro Cop attempts a high kick that misses, then backs off. Junior bolts forward and unleashes several hooks. A couple of them hit the mark and stun Cro Cop.

Cro Cop shakes it off and moves on. Junior continues to dominate the action, threatening with a constant barrage of punches. Cro Cop doesn’t seem to have an answer for Dos Santos boxing skills, as he circles on the outside trying to counter with strikes of his own. He doesn’t land much, he seems to be trying only to survive Junior’s attack.

Junior works Cro Cop against the cage, but Cro Cop is able to circle away.

Cro Cop lands an accidental low blow and Junior takes a minute to recover. The action continues and they meet back in the center. Junior continues where he left off, constantly moving forward and attacking with punches. With 20 seconds left in the round Junior lands a good left/right hook combo that wobbles Cro Cop slightly.

Cro Cop’s forehead is busted up now and the round ends with the two in the center of the ring.

Round 3: They meet in the center, and Cro Cop rushes forward with more urgency. He tries to land some punches, but Junior fires right back, which pushes Cro Cop back. Junior keeps pushing forward, overwhelming Cro Cop with his boxing skills. Junior lands a solid hook that stuns Cro Cop, then lands a knee to the body.

Cro Cop looks shaky as Junior moves forward. Dos Santos lands another knee to the body, and follows that up with two more hooks to the head. Cro Cop backs up and Junior swarms in landing another knee to the body and another hard hook to the head. Cro Cop looks extremely weary at this point.

Junior lands a solid uppercut to the body followed by another solid knee to Cro Cop’s body. Junior grabs Cro Cop’s head in the muay thai grip and lands a solid knee to Cro Cop’s face. The knee wobbles Cro Cop even more, and Junior follows up with several hooks to body and head. Cro Cop backs up while dropping his hands. He looks very tired and worn out.

Junior does not let up, constantly throwing knees and punches to the body. After taking an overwhelming amount of punishment, Cro Cop verbally taps. Junior backs off and the ref steps in to confirm the verbal tap. After confirming, the ref waves the fight off and Junior Dos Santos defeats Mirko Cro Cop by TKO in round 2.

Wanderlei Silva vs. Cung Le Full Fight Video

UFC 139 took place November 19, 2011, from San Jose, CA. The card featured a middleweight bout between Wanderlei Silva and Cung Le.

Wanderlei Silva is a long time and well respected MMA veteran who has fought all over the world, in Pride and the UFC. He has faced some of the biggest names in mixed martial arts including Vitor Belfort, Rampage Jackson, Mirko Cro Cop, Tito Ortiz, Dan Henderson, and Mark Hunt.

Cung Le is a long time Strikeforce veteran who is making his debut in the UFC against Wanderlei Silva. Only having one loss in his entire MMA career, Le makes for a formidable opponent. He is known for his flashy kicks and has many highlight reel knockouts.

Round 1: Both fighters come out and meet in the center. Le starts moving forward immediately threatening with kicks. Silva circles on the outside while Le stalks. Le tries to pounce on Silva with a strong hook, but Silva comes right back with a barrage of hooks of his own. Le continues to stalk and throws a spinning back kick that goes high, but Silva blocks mostly with his gloves.


Le is the aggressor, moving forward and stalking, but Silva is primed and ready for his every move. Le throws a kick to the body, and seconds later throws a spinning back fist that drops Silva. Silva gets back up and Le swarms him against the cage. Le throws another spinning back kick that misses. He throws two more spinning kicks that almost hit the mark.

Le continues to move forward, constantly throwing side kicks and spinning kicks. Silva strikes back every time he kicks, not really landing but ready to fight. Silva moves forward and catches Le with a strong left that stuns him for a moment. Silva tries to follow up but Le covers up and blocks his attack.

Silva continues to get aggressive and starts letting the strikes go. He throws a body kick, a head kick, then a hook to the head. The crowd reacts as Le is backed up. Silva pushes forward again and catches Le with another strong hook that backs him up. With only 20 seconds left in the round, Silva steps up his attack and swarms Le, throwing several hooks at his head, his body, and knees. The round ends with both fighters in the center of the ring.

Round 2: They both come out to the center. Silva immediately swings for the fences and misses. Le throws a side kick to Silva’s body that lands. The continue to circle each other, Le moving forward and Silva circling on the outside. Le seems more tired this round and is throwing less kicks.

Silva catches him with a strong hook that stuns him for a moment. Le shakes it off and continues to stalk. He throws a couple of leg kicks, but they are not as hard as in round 1. Silva starts to stalk and Le circles on the outside. Silva catches Le with another good left hook, and Le side kicks him to the body.

They trade leg kicks in the center, and Silva blasts out with another barrage of hooks. Le backs up slightly and re-engages. Le continues to attack with various leg kicks, not really doing any damage, but keeping Silva on the defensive. Le keeps moving forward and Silva rushes back in with another barrage of hooks. Le backs into the cage and Silva throws a head kick that lands.

Silva follows that up with a straight left that drops Le to the canvas. Silva pounces and Le tries to stand back up. Silva jumps on him and starts landing hammer fists to the side of his head. Silva grabs Le’s neck in a guillotine choke position and lands a solid knee. He follows up with 2 more knees then stands and catches Le with a solid left hook.

Silva grabs Le in the clinch and delivers a solid knee to the midsection. Silva lets go and goes back upstairs with another left hook. They separate briefly, and Silva grabs Le again and pulls his head into another solid knee. Le falls backwards into the cage and Silva rushes forward. While on top of him Silva lands 5 or 6 solid hammer fists. The referee jumps in and stops the action.
