Busted, UFC Fighter Chris Leben Arrested for DUI (Updated)

The Junkie is reporting, UFC fighter Chris Leben was busted Wednesday night for driving under the influence (DUI) and violating terms of his probation in Oregon. As of the report, Leben is still locked up after being denied bail and is scheduled to go before the judge at 3 pm PST on Thursday.

UPDATE:

Chris Leben was not arrested this week for DUI.

When Chris moved to Hawaii he was in the process of completing classes for his probation on an old DUI in Portland Oregon. We worked hard to get his probation transferred to Hawaii but were unsuccessful.

When he got the call to fight Bisping on June 7th in London he knew what he had to do.

He immediately flew to Oregon and turned himself in on the probation violation. The warrant was a “no bail” warrant so he will have to sit in jail for 8-10 days before he gets a hearing. The moment he appeared before the judge after turning himself in the warrant was revoked and he is able to get his VISA for London.

Chris is in excellent shape and will finish his training camp with the help of Matt Hume.

Chris has worked hard the past year to grow both physically, mentally and spiritually. The actions he took to make this fight happen in London show this growth. Chris would like everyone to know he accepts responsibility for his past actions and will face the consequences and continue forward on his journey.

  1. Wow talk about bad timing. He is on probation get a cab or a limo what is he doing getting a DUI. He could have a shot a beating Bisping but thats not gonna happen if he is locked up and can't fight. Wonder what replacement they could have for the cripple.

  2. Thats one way to get out of a fight

  3. What a moron.

  4. quit hating says:

Chris isnt paid to think. we shouldnt hold him to a standard that he cant live up to. the ufc thrives on stoopid $317.95

doods like this. at least he is not walking around his posh OC neighborhood beating up all the little kids.

  5. What a dip shit, this is why leben will never be an elite fighter, BAD FUCKING DECISION MAKING!!! Instead of trainind and getting ready for what could be the biggest fight of his career, hes out partying. GREAT IDEA!

  6. fuck and leban just got his big shot

  7. steveo you told the worlds out of my mouth

  8. not suprised at all that leben would get another dui. but yeah, really sad if they have to cancel the fight with bisping. he's lucky he just signed an extension because i'm sure dana is pissed right now.

  9. danedrebin says:

i heard th dui happened a long time ago and he hadnt turned himself in but because of him having to go to london to fight bisping he turned himself in so he would be in jail for 8-10 days and then he would be able to get his visa. makes sense to me

  10. damn yeah it does..because he cant leave the state if hes on probashion ha i hope he wins his fight

  11. Thats good news dane thanks for that. I think it's going to be a damn good fight too.

  12. The UFC is a HAVEN for CRIMINALS!

  13. danedrebin says:

its the best FIGHTERS in the world not dancers man some of them are bound to be rough

  14. They can be rough for what they get paid I imagine THEY CAN AFFORD A CAB!!! I am in the army full time and I take a cab and I am guessing Leben makes "just a little" more than me. You can't make an excuse for a MAN that should know better, somebody said Dana is pissed your damn right he is pissed, Bisping and Leben are the only guys other than franklin that look like they may be able to make it out of the first round with andersen silva, its gonna get to the point were no one will watch his fights because hes not gonna lose so Leben acting a fool should piss Dana off. Not just a fight community as a society we have to stop making excuses for pro athletes.

  15. Comments 1-8, did any of you read the article? He wasn't arrested for another DUI, he got it a while ago. He was arrested because he hadn't finished his probation obligations before he moved to Hawaii. He tried to have it transferred to Hawaii, but they couldn't do it. He went back and turned himself in so that he could obtain the visa to go to London to fight Bisping. The fight is still on. He was arrested for violation of probation because it couldn't get transferred. And I think it's safe to say, Chris Leben doesn't really back down from a fight.

  16. danedrebin says:

i know people need to get informed before they judge

  17. Uh People did read the article and this one at cagetoday made it sound like he was arrested again. So thats what we commented on.

Now thats its been properly updated we know the crippler is just taking care of some old business so he can fight without any law issues.
