Anthony Johnson Injures Knee, Off TUF 9 Finale Bout With Matt Brown
By CagE | May 19, 2009
Some more bad luck for ufc welterweight Anthony Johnson, he as apparently suffered a “severe knee injury” while training for his TUF 9 Finale fight with Matt Brown, according to FiveOuncesOfPain.
There’s no word regarding how long he will be sidelined …. Additionally, immediate word was not available regarding whether Brown would remain on the card against a replacement.
Johnson (7-2) is on a two fight winning streak since taking controversial TKO (illegal eye poke) loss to Kevin Burns at UFC Fight Night “Silva vs. Irvin”.
Brown (9-7) is coming off his most impressive victory thus far in the UFC, running over Pete Sell in the first round at UFC 96.
