UFC 63 Recap

Well after another showing of the UFC we find ourselves discussing the outcomes. I didn’t fair to well in my predictions. I was completely wrong on all fights, that is why I am not a betting man.

BJ Penn to win Matt Hughes by submission, 2nd round.
This was the only one that I was even close on. BJ Penn is a contortionist freak and dominated Matt Hughes the first two rounds. The third round BJ gassed from all the ground work in the second round. Not surprising, BJ Penn is known for his relaxed training. If he had the work ethic that Matt Hughes has, BJ Penn would be the best fighter in the UFC. Well he doesn’t and their it is. Matt Hughes is pure hard work and training. That what makes him such a threat. He is always going to be in shape, he is always going to train hard, and he is always going to give it his all.

David Loiseau to win Mike Swick by KO, 1st round.
I was expecting David Loiseau to put up more of a fight. Mike Swick didn’t impress me like he usually does. He was totally reserved in the fight and did just enough to win the first two rounds. David Loiseau was totally reserved all three rounds and only pulled out the third in the last minute.

Jason Lambert to win Rashad Evens by decision
Finally, Rashad Evens put on a stellar performance and showed that he actually has some offence. Good win for Rashad Evens.

Cage Todays Poll has it Matt Huges over BJ Penn!

UFC 63 Preview – BJ Penn vs. Matt Hughes

Tonight’s fight i have been looking forward to for a long time. I am a big fan of Matt Hughes and BJ Penn. BJ Penn is one of those fighters that I feel hasn’t lived up to his potential. He is a freak on the ground and he has a stand up game. Matt Huges is the greatest all around fighter ever in the UFC.

My Predictions on UFC 63

To be a little controversial
BJ Penn to win Matt Hughes by submititon, 2nd round.

David Loiseau to win Mike Swick by KO, 1st round.

Jason Lambert to win Rashad Evens by decision

Cage Todays Poll has it Matt Huges over BJ Penn!

The Ultimate Fighter S4E5 Recap

Din Thomas vs. Mikey Burnett

After Jeremy Jackson’s unique departure, the team decides to bring back Pete Spratt. Rich Clementi would have been a better choice since he is still a motivated fighter and wants to fight.

Din Thomas vs. Mikey Burnett

I was thinking Mikey would have given Din a better fight. Din Thomas showed he could be one of the finalists with that impressive triangle choke.

What is going on in this season of The Ultimate Fighter? All the fights are boring and have ended quickly. Maybe we are starting to see why these guys need a second chance. In the previous three seasons you had your fighters that stand out. You knew they were destined for UFC fame. I don’t see any standouts in this season, don’t get me wrong some of these guys could be a great under card fight for some inexperienced UFC standout. I have also see that a lot of these fighters have a noticeable flaw in their game. In the fight between Travis Lutter and Scott Smith. Scott Smith has a weakness of getting choked out by the rear naked choke. You would think that having being choked out a few times by weaker opponents, he would have trained and became and expert choke defender. I am hoping in the semi-finals that the week fighter are weeded out and we can start seeing some good fights.
