Ariel Helwani has a nice strategy, start with compliments before getting into the tough questions. Well that doesn’t work for Brock Lesnar who has no problem cutting interviews short when he doesn’t like the questions.
In an exclusive pre-fight interview, Ariel Helwani grabs a few minutes with Brock Lesnar to talk about his thoughts heading into his huge UFC 141 fight with Alistair Overeem, coming back from surgery, and what he through of providing commentary for UFC on FOX 1. Helwani opens by buttering Brock up with some nice things to say about his commentary debut at the first UFC event on Fox. But compliments don’t last long with Brock, and just a few minutes into the interview Brock cuts it short when questions started about Overeem’s lack of respect and Brock’s underdog status going into the fight.
He always acts like a dick if you ask him any hard questions. How did that Brock ever graduate college?
Hard Questions? What hard question? Seems like there are a lot of Brock haters. He was done with the interview and left is that a problem? Lots of pro athletes do that. So when he cracks overeems head i guess the haters will say he was just lucky…lol
I didn't think the questions were that bad. They were a little instigating by bringing up the whole underdog thing but nothing over the line. There's nothing wrong with that. Helwani actually asks questions that the fans want answers to. Not the usual boring questions that every other MMA interviewer asks.
Not trying to be a hater, I was making a joke. But besides that I've seen interviews where he does act like an ass. Check out the first pre-fight press conference for some examples.
Who has Overeem beat in the past few years? A past his prime Cro Cop? Brock's the former UFC champ and he walked off because asking him about being the underdog is just stupid.
