Longtime UFC welterweight champion Matt Hughes has verbally agreed to face legendary Gracie family member Renzo Gracie at UFC 112 set for April 10th in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates.
I know, on April 10th I will be fighting Renzo Gracie in Abu Dhabi. I haven’t signed any paperwork and I don’t think Renzo has either; but I think this fight is going to happen. That’s all I know, serious training will start for me at the new year. [Matt Hughes]
The UFC venturing into the United Arab Emirates, is part of the companies global expansion headed by Lorenzo Fertitta.
ok i gotta be the first to say this having it in Dhabi is gonna leave the UFC with some fat pockets after wards. I really hope they payout there fighters well.
