The UFC has decided to release middleweight prospect Jake Rosholt from its roster of fighters. The news comes via his manager Ted Ehrhardt,
“I didn’t think he’d be released …. He had one fight left on his contract, and we thought he’d at least get that. He had a good performance [against Grove] up until he got caught. He was winning the fight. He’s young. We’ll go out and get some wins and be back …. We’ll look to get some quick fights in, three or four fights in the first six months of the year, and then we’ll go back and talk with [UFC matchmaker] Joe [Silva] …. We’ve got plenty of time. I think he’s going to be one of the top middleweights.†[Sherdog]
Rosholt was putting on a good performance against Kendall Grove before “Da Spider” wrapped his long legs around Rosholts neck to secure the triangle choke at UFC 106. With a 6-2 record and no fights in his career ever going to a decision, I’m sure well see him back in the UFC.
