Sean Sherk breaks the news that he will be fighting Rafaello “Tractor” Oliverira at UFC 108 on Jan. 2 in Las Vegas.
Sherk has lost two of his last three fights inside the Octagon, since testing positive for steroids following his UFC 73 fight with Hermes Franca.
“I’m fighting January 2 against Rafaello Oliveira … I haven’t studied him yet, but I know he has fought my training partner Nick Lentz in Dallas. Lentz beat him, and he’s been able to give me some good advice on him.â€
Oliveira (9-2) is a virtual unknown, losing his UFC debut to Nick Lentz at UFC 103.
Something else interesting, Sherk (33-4-1) doesn’t want a rematch with Frankie Edgar,
“To be honest with you, I’m not really interested in fighting him again. I’d rather fight the big guns. I’d love to fight B.J., Kenny, or Diego. Somebody like that.â€
Frankie Edgar out pointed the “Muscle Shark” Sean Sherk, winning the unanimous decision at UFC 98.
