Direct TV let the news slip on its website, Chuck “The Iceman Liddell will take on Wanderlei Silva at UFC 79 on December 29. The official news of the fight will be announced at UFC 77 on Saturday night.
The long awaited fight between the top UFC and PRIDE brawlers, looks like it might actually take place. I tip my hat to the UFC for getting this fight done, finally.
i hope this fight happens even though is not gonna be as good as watchin two at the top of their game fighters. we will still be watchin living legends in the mma world fight and after along time coming to. I am definetly rooting for wanderlei though. I like his got out and throw no matter what style.
Chuck had better come with a better strategy than his previous fights. three losses in a row screams retirement, I don't care who you are.

I think "AND HOPE" Chuck will finally get it together and pull this fight off….but after the last fight he looks kinda hesitant in the ring when hes not the far far favorite to win-Ii seems hes trying to knock everybody out too fast which ends up in him getting exausted/which is unlike him….he should pick and choose his shots a little more consitantly and throw more "STRAIGHT BLOWS-NOT LOOPING"—Whatever it takes……..KI** this fool Chuck……..SEE YOU IN VEGAS -ICE

I wouldn't call Chuck a has-been though. That seems a bit hasty to me. Look at Couture, and there are a decent number of older, still good fighters out there. Still, I got Wanderlei by KO/TKO
Poor Chuck. He has the tools but he is still fighting one way. He will never be able to beat the top strikers with his current game. Switch it up chuck, this is not kickboxing. Use your wrestling to put people on the ground, then knock them out with some ground and pound.
Word, Chuck. Adapt and overcome, but maybe Wanderlei is not such a good place to start.
I think this will be a really good fight. I wonder who is the favorite coming into this one. I'm putting my money on Liddell because I think his counterpunching style will work against Silva.
I acknowledge the possibility, but I think Chucky will have to be flawless to pull it off; especially if it goes to the mat.
