Yoshihiro Akiyama (13-1) spilled the beans at a press conference Tuesday in Japan. He will be fighting Wanderlei “The Axe Murder” Silva (32-10-1) in February, possibly in the main event at UFC 111 in Sydney, Australia.
Akiyama aka “Sexyama” made his UFC debut at UFC 100, winning a controversial split decision against Alan Belcher. The fight earned him a 100k “Fight of the Night” bonus for his performance.
Fan favorite Wanderlei Silva will look to get back on track after going 1-6 in his last seven fights.

silva went 1-6 in his last 7 fights damn..thats bad
I hope silva gets the knock out
i hope i win the lottery…i hopefor world peace…i hope all the crying babies in the world shut up…..hope is all silva has left, because his skills left a few fights ago.
He's actually 2-5 his last 7 fights. 4-6 his last ten. 40% win percentage (or less) is going to make him a name-brand stepping stone for younger, in-their-prime up-and-coming fighters.
silvas lost a lot lately but he's also been fighting rediculously tough competition but i think akiyama isnt as good as a franklin, rampage, or lidell. i think wand has it in him to beat akiyama so long as he doesnt gas from the cut.
yea i think silva is pretty much done but i think he takes this one by knockout, well atleast we will se how he dose after his face surgary.. it will look like a diffrent silva fighting lol
so far away…. i Akiyama brings it to a fight and can take a hit (in most cases)
