It has been announced that One Fighting Championships has cancelled a title fight at its recent One FC 6 “Rise of Kings.” The promotion has revealed the fighters included in the October 6 event but seems to have forgotten to include the much awaited 145 –pound title fight.
One Fighting Championships has announced that Honorio Banario will be fighting once more against Bae Young Kwon which will be held at the Singapore Indoor Stadium in Kallang, Singapore. Kwon was reported to have bowed out of the fight without having been announced as Banario’s opponent with reasons regarding his withdrawal not currently known.
In the heat of the cancelled fight, One Promotion will still hold championship bouts for the lightweight and bantamweight divisions with Zorobabel Moreira fights against Kotetsu Boku. Leandro Issa is also expected to fight Soo Chui Kim in a rematch fight. Other notable fighters for the October 6 event will be former Dream championship Shinya Aoki as he fights against French Arnaud Lepont; this is the evening’s headliner fight.
Shinya “Tobikan Judan” Aoki is from Tokyo, Japan and he currently has 30 wins and 6 losses with one non contest. His most recent fight was a technical knockout defeat against Eddie Alvarez at the Bellator Fighting Championships 66 in April 2012. His latest win was against Satoru Kitaoka via unanimous decision at the Dream – Fight for Japan: Genki Desu Ka! New Year! 2011. His opponent at One FC 6 Arnaud “The Game” Lepont is from France win an incredible 8 wins and only one loss. Lepont boasts of a 6 consecutive win with his latest against Brian Choi at the One FC 4 – Destiny of Warriors via rear – naked choke. His only loss was against Samuel Judes at the Knock Out Championship 2.
Other incredible fights to watch out for are a bout between Dutchman Melvin Manhoef against the middleweight King of Pancrase Ryo Kawamura. There are also three bantamweight fights with contenders like Hens Pulver, Masakatsy Ueda and Kevin Belington as these fighters take on Yanfei Zhao, Ming Jung Song and Yusup Saadulaev.
One Fighting Championship 6 “Rise of Kings” will surely make more press releases as this much awaited date nears. With the omission of the Banario versus Young Kwon fight, speculations of a replacement or changes await fans in Asia and in many places all around the world.
