UFC 122: Belfort Out, Marquardt Steps In To Face Okami

Vitor Belfort has been removed and replaced with Nate Marquardt who will take on Yushin Okami at UFC 122 on Nov. 13th in Germany, according to MMAWeekly. The reason for the replacement was first reported as a “undisclosed injury”, but further rumors have surface that Belfort will now fight Anderson Silva for the title, with Chael Sonnen now suspended.

The winner of Marquardt vs Okami is expected to get the next title shot.

UPDATE
UFC President Dana White confirms on twitter that Anderson Silva will face Vitor Belfort for the title and the winner of Marquardt vs Okami will be in-line for the next title shot.

    Exactly. I read on MMATorch this morning that he was pulled out due to injury. Glad that's not the case. Looking forward to seeing this matchup since they were due to fight in July!
