The Legacy Fighting Championship was expecting a flyweight king but unfortunately this fighter will not be crowned this summer. It has been confirmed this Thursday from Legacy promoted Mick Maynard that the planned flyweight title match between Will Campuzano and Jimmy Flick was removed from the bill. Their headline fight was scratched from the Legacy Fighting Championships 13 after Will Campuzano suffered from a serious ankle injury. The co-headliner bout between Jared Roshott and Derrick Lewis, a heavyweight championship match will now serve as LFC 13’s main event. The Legacy Fighting Championship 13 will take place on August 17 at the Dallas Convention Center; this is part of the Europa Get Fit and Sports Expo and will air live on AXS TV.
Will Campuzano is just 36; he stands tall at 5’9” and at 125 lbs. He has a total of 10 wins and 4 losses on his belt and has won two consecutive wins before he was scheduled to fight Jimmy Flick. He has won against Randy Hinds at the 24/7 Entertainment – Professional Cage Fighting in April 2011 and against Joshua Sampo at the RTP – Rumble Time Promotions in May 2012 with a knock out using a knee to head strike just a minute of the third round.
Will Campuzano was originally supposed to meet Bellator fighter Chad Robichaux for the Texas-based promotion’s flyweight belt at LFC 12 last month but that fight was also cancelled in just hours before the event due Robichauk’s medical issues. Campuzano’s back –to-back wins were supposed to prepare him for his match with Jimmy Flick but it looks like he is in for a long break.
Jimmy “The Brick” Flick is just 21 and he has 5 wins with no losses on his belt. This fighter from Sand Springs, Oklahoma stands at 5’6” and 134 lbs. He has a superb record of five straight wins over impressive fighters like Humberto DeLeon at the Bellator Fighting Championships 20 and at the IXFA – Extreme Fighting, Anthony Session at the Fighter Physique, Randy Villareal at the STFC 19 – Relentless and Adan de la Garza at the UWF – Tournament of Warriors Finale. Flick is famous for his Submission through an arm – triangle choke usually in just minutes of the round.
There is no word yet when Will Campuzano will return to fight or his plans for recovery after his ankle injury.
