Known for Olympic Judo style, Hector Lombard currently gets his strategies inside the cage under American Top Team facility. Lombard started victoriously after being awarded by Marcos Silveira with a black belt in Brazilian jiu-jitsu.
Lombard’s Fights
Lombard fought under different MMA organizations. His fights in Pride Fighting Championship ended in two losses from Akihiro Gono and Gegard Mousasi. Lombard then turned in to Cage Fighting Championship the next year and fought a controversial draw with Kyle Noke. Later in 2007, Lombard won against Jean-Francois Lenogue and became the CFC Middleweight Division Champion. After this victory, he persistently defended his title for 6 times until he met Art Santore. Lombard further defended his title against Joe Doerksen at the CFC 16 fight.
Lombard in Bellator
In January 2009, Lombard was announced to have an exclusive contract with Bellator Fighting Championships. His debut was against Virgil Lozano where he won and made it to the finals of Bellator Middleweight Division Championship. Lombard won the belt after defeating Jared Hess on the fourth round. In 2010, he fought against Jay Silva whom Lombard made a fastest knockout record in Bellator by 6 seconds. Lombard then faced Herbert Goodman and won the fight in first round via knockout. Persistently winning in his fights, Lombard had his contract expired with Bellator last January 30.
Lombard in UFC
Last April, Lombard was confirmed to be part of UFC which prevents him from having a rematch with Alexander Shlemenko. He was set to fight Brian Stann on August 4 but was forced out of the match due to a shoulder injury. He then faced and lost against Tim Boetsch last July 21 via split decision. This loss to Boetsch has ended his 25 fight winning streak. Before this defeat, he was being pursued to fight against Anderson Silva who is the only fighter reigning over his winning streak.
