DREAM 5 Video: Shinya Aoki vs. Joachim Hansen

After a dream run to the top of the DREAM lightweight grand prix tournament, Eddie Alvarez was unfortunately unable to compete in the finale against Aoki, due to a closed right eye he suffered in his earlier win.

Alternate fighter Joachim Hansen, who was eliminated earlier in the tournament by Alvarez, defeated Aoki by landing a leaping right hand to the downed fighter.

  3. richaaron says:

I agree roy. I'll admit, the last 20 minutes of Dream 5 gave me chills. From the interview with Eddie up till the final award given to Hansen. That was some good stuff…

  4. kom34 says:

aoki doesn't seem to take punches well. i'm glad jansen saw the gogoplata setup and got out before aoki sank it in. yeah dream is a good show. this last weekend was dynamite for mma.

  5. Great performance from Joachim: he seems to be growing professionally in every bout I see him. And that's not to say that he wasn't one of the top strikers already back in 2004 when he fought for Pride.

  6. Nicks says:

Yeah Dream5 was pretty damn good I thought too.

But I didn't like how Alvarez didn't get to fight Aoki but he seemed happy that Joachim won in hes place.

  7. roy says:

why not be happy for him if you can't fight, a guy won that you already beat so makes him look kind of good and he should get the first shot at him.

  8. richaaron says:

It's gonna be one helluva rematch…
