Tim Sylvia Removed From Affliction 3 ‘Trilogy’ After Mercer KO

tim sylvia signs with Adrenaline mma

After being knocked out by Ray Mercer in ten seconds on Saturday night, more bad career news for the former UFC heavyweight champion Tim Sylvia. Affliction VP Tom Atencio has decided that a scheduled Affliction 3 ‘Trilogy’ fight between Sylvia and Paul Buentello has to be put on hold.

“It’s his second knockout in a row, and I don’t want to take a chance on anything … The fight is less than 60 days away. [MMAFanhouse]”

Tim Syliva and his management must have known that this would be a possibility if he suffered any injury during his fight with Mercer.

Unless I'm missing something, he didn't get knocked out twice in a row. Fedor knocked him down and submitted him by RNC and then he got knocked out by mercer. Seems like they are looking for an excuse to pull him off the card since Tim probably won't pull in too many ratings. Can't blame them.

it was only on knock out but i don't think he would be cleared to fight in a month and a half and how could he make weight by than.
