No closet Nick is the only guy out there with a chance of taking GSPs title.
You really think he's got what it takes to stuff GSP's takedowns?!….I don't know that Nick would beat half the guys who've Lost to GSP in their last 5 matches. But once again….How will we ever Know?
nick is real good at beating nobodies. and losing to anyone who has a name out there.
Yup, Nick was doing his usual bragging before facing a young Diego Sanchez and then lost with authority
ps anyone got a link to the joe riggs fight? i haven't seen that one.
i think diaz is capable of submitting gsp if he were taken down. he would hoe gsp out on stand-up.
DIAZ had evolved since he left the ufc. GSP BJJ is not the best and Diaz can exploit that
You think Diaz has gotten better with lesser competition?
I can't stand GSP, but even I don't buy that Nick could beat him…I don't think he'd match up against BJ, and GSP took him to school! I don't believe, for one second, that stupid cats paw thing he does would have any effect on him, either. Georges would take him down, control him, frustrate him then "lay n pray" till the end bell rang.
LOL. To even suggest that Diaz has a chance against GSP is one of the most laughable things I've ever seen posted on this site. This is NICK DIAZ!!! Wake up!!! hahaha. The most impressive thing I've seen Nick do is beat Gomi while high on pot. I gotta give him that one…lol…but that's all I'm giving him.
yes cobra and your predictions have been really accurate lately
i think the most laughable thing ever posted on this site is that people on this site act as if nick diaz is not one of the toughest dudes in mma. i agree with jay and feel that nick diaz is highly underrated and everyone acts like his antics make him less of a fighter. other than a stoppage early in his career from strikes, no one has ever knocked him out(and you cant count noons because it was a doctor stoppage). most of his losses were from being taken down but he very rarely is hurt. plus the dude is a cardio machine. I think if this fight ever takes place, alot of people that like to ride gsp's nuts might end up shocked and dissapointed in their hero. i dont' hate gsp, and i agree that he is one of the best p4p fighters of all time, but i think diaz belongs in the same category and possibly has the tools to take him out. i think it would be a good fight and diaz is calling gsp out, so if gsp is a real champion, he should be willing to do it, instead of running through all the same people hes already beat.
"so if gsp is a real champion, he should be willing to do it, instead of running through all the same people hes already beat."
I just wanted you to read that again so we're clear on what you typed jbug.
Are you suggesting that GSP is ducking Diaz??
Its not GSP's fault that Diaz doesn't know how to behave himself and cant get in the good graces of the UFC for a second run. Should GSP walk away from the UFC after his contract is over so he can go to Strikeforce and fight a bunch of B level fighters to satisfy the Diaz Nuthuggers?
I think I'm just going to Parrot Clutch and say, "To even suggest that Diaz has a chance against GSP is one of the most laughable things I’ve ever seen posted on this site."
How can GSP fight Diaz jbug? Diaz would have to come to the UFC and actually put together some wins there to get to GSP! Diaz lost 3 str8 the last time he was in the UFC but I agree he's probabbly gotten better since then but how can we know when the guys he's beaten aren't at the top 10 level? I'm def not a GSP fan, I used to be but that was before he boarded me to death with his 5 rounds wrestling match decision wins but I doubt Diaz is the guy to stop him. He doesn't have 1 punch KO power like Serra or even Kos has and his BJJ isn't better than BJ's so he won't submit him either.
jbug: Acting tough doesn't mean you are tough.
no, im not saying that gsp is ducking diaz. i may not have thought that statement out correctly, because yes, gsp is a true champion and i dont believe he would duck anyone, and for that statement, please forgive me. diaz' losses in the ufc are not exactly to a bunch of scrubs( sanchez, sherk, parisyan-a close decision that could have gone either way, riggs- who was definitely hurt worse.) and to say that he has only beat a bunch of nobodies (lawler by ko, neer, gomi by gogo, lytle, sakurai, shamrock, scott smith, thomas denny, drew fickett, gleison tibeau, zaromkis who is a champion) are these fighters a bunch of nobodies? as far as comparing diaz to bj, for one diaz cuts weight to make 170 and bj has to add weight, making bj an easy opponent for gsp to control. diaz however is tall and lanky and is one of the top bjj practitioners in the game, he just prefers to showcase his stand up, which is definitely top level. people talk about him not having power, but his body shots are brutal, and power isnt everything. if he has no power, why are so many of his wins due to strikes? Diaz is also a champion, and he is just saying that he wants to fight the best competition in the world, and that is gsp. i retract the earlier statement and sorry will not happen again
plus, who would you rather see gsp fight? fitch, alves, paulo thiago? i personally would rather see him fight nick diaz or jake shields
i would also like to see diaz vs bj
meant to say diaz vs bj in a jiu jitsu match
I didn't say those guys Diaz beat outside the UFC were all nobodies but not top 10 guys so it's hard to tell how much better he really is until he fights tougher guys let alone GSP.
Alot of fighters win by KO who don't have power so you said it yourself that power isn't everything and my point is that unlike Serra or Kos who could catch GSP with one good shot, Diaz would have to throw punches in bunches but in that time GSP would take him down. Diaz is the champ of Strikeforce! It's not like him vs GSP would be a super fight cause the SF champ is still ranked under alot of guys on most sites. It's not like Pride champs vs UFC champs who were more evenly matched. Now that UFC has both they're bigger than they were before so SF sure as hell doesn't have equal champs.
