Los Angeles Coliseum in Los Angeles, California
The K-1 Dynamite show went off tonight at the LA Coliseum, with a reported 47,000+ in attendance. Brock Lesnar made his MMA debut against Kim Min-Soo. Lesnar quickly took Min-Soo down, took side control, transitioned to mount and pounded him till Min-Soo submitted due to strikes. Lesnar looked good against the South Korean and showed that he might be a real contender in MMA with some experience.
Former NFL wide receiver Johnnie Morton made his debut in dramatic fashion. He was knocked out at 0:38 seconds of the first round. Morton was completely out, he had to be taken out of the ring on a stretcher with a neck brace.
Royce Gracie vs. Kazushi Sakuraba was very uneventful. Gracie pulls out the decision.
Overall some of the fights were pretty good, making this event successful in terms of entertainment value. I would have liked to see some better match ups, including a stronger opponent for Brock Lesnar.
