When it rains it pours, former UFC lightweight contender Hermes Franca is currently sitting in Clackamas County jail facing charges of sexual abuse and unlawful sexual penetration. Monday Franca, with the advise of his attorney turned himself in and pleaded no guilty to nine criminal counts. Bond has been set at $250,000.
- 7 counts of first degree sexual abuse
- 3 counts of second degree unlawful sexual penetration.
Franca is being accused of the crime by a female minor at a BJJ academy in Clackamas, where he once taught.

An immediate search is underway to replace Franca who was slated to fight Drew Fickett on Friday, June 10 at MFC 30: Up Close & Personal. Fickettâ€™s new opponent is expected to be announced shortly.
â€œMr. Francaâ€™s legal situation is a matter in the hands of law enforcement officials and soon to be going before the courts and because of that there will not be any further comment on those allegations, but I have taken immediate action to indicate that he is no longer going to be part of my organization,â€ stated MFC Owner/President Mark Pavelich.
