Slated as the fight to save boxing, this well hyped fight went the distance with Floyd Mayweather taking the decision. Mayweather won the decision, but he pulled a Koscheck by retreating most of the fight and used his speed to get quality blows to De La Hoya. De La Hoya was the aggressor in the fight, he was just to slow to react to Mayweathers attacks. Basically a decision based on quality of blows as opposed to quantity, the judges could have decided either way. I probably would of gave the fight to De La Hoya if he didn’t gas in the 10th round, but he did and the decision was fair.
