Sports Illustrated released its list of “The 25 Toughest Athletes”, among the athlete’s listed were two Mixed Martial Artists and one boxer. Coming in at #3 is the current UFC middleweight champion Anderson Silva. Also in the top ten, top heavyweight Fedor Emelienanko made the list at #8. Boxer Floyd Mayweather came in just behind Fedor at #9.

Anderson Silva:

You automatically qualify when people tab you as the world’s best pound-for-pound mixed martial arts fighter. Silva is 6-0 in the UFC, and ranked No. 1 in pound-for-pound polls by Fight Magazine.

Fedor Emelianenko:

Well, he’s the toughest heavyweight in the world, and maybe the greatest heavyweight in mixed martial arts. Emelianenko, 31, is 27-1-1 in MMA and is a 10-time Sambo tournament champion, including four World Combat Sambo Championships. Ruthless Russian strongman Vladimir Putin shows up on occasion to watch him.

I would put Floyd Mayweather at #1 in tough to beat…but not in the top ten for toughness. The guy is right behind Fedor and just a few months ago he was dressed in a pastel outfit, doing the cha cha on Dancing with the Stars.

  2. Bryan says:

Rampage Jackson is the undisputed Light Heavyweight Champ of the World. I would put him in there for sure.

Where is Tiger on the list. Most dominate golfer ever!
