According to FightersOnly magazine, UFC lightweight champion BJ Penn is rumored to take on Kenny “Kenflo” Florian in the main event at UFC 99 in Cologne, Germany.

Although BJ Penn would have probably preferred a rematch with GSP, he will have to defend his lightweight title against number one contender Kenny Florian.

The same source also dismissed rumors that Mirko Cro Cop will be fighting Randy Couture on the card.

Rich “Ace” Franklin vs. Wanderlei Silva is expected to be the co-main event at UFC 99 and are expected to fight at a catch weight of possibly 195 lbs.

    go ken flow..

rich vs silva at 195. maybe a new weight class??

  2. steve says:

new weight class lol it says catch weight in the above information tommy boy. They dont need a cruiser weight in MMA.

  3. dane drebin says:

i actually think 195 would be a sick weight class its a 20 pound leap from middleweight to light heavy. someday there will be a 195.

  4. tom says:

195 would be a great idea and be great for guys like rich and silva and rashed even

  5. David says:

Rich vs Wanderlei will be a great fight but man I like them both. I hate it when you have to choose between 2 fighters in a high profile fight but I'm gonna root for Wanderlei even though I think Franklin can edge it out.

195 could be a possibility but that will just thin out the 205 class. Even though it's the most stacked division now, who knows about later on down the road. Either way, I'm always down for another division in the UFC

  6. Morey says:

I'm fine with all the weight classes except heavy weight. A 60 lb. division doesn't make much sense to me. Never has.

  7. dane drebin says:

i agree david not now but someday there will be a 195 class and i agree morey they should have super heavyweight start after 230 or 225

  8. tom says:

210 to 255 heavy weight, 260 to 300 super heavy weight that would be tight

  9. steve says:

if u did add a 195 it would be retarded because it would just limit some of the fights u would get to see and fighters would be going back and forth in weight divisions so sorry but there wont be a 195. There is just not enough elite fighters. It would be a mess and #1 contenders would be coming down from 205 and 185 all the time. The weight class would seem like a backup plan for guys who cant cut it at 185 or 205.

  10. STEVEO says:

Kenflo all the way. I agree that they could definitely have from 205 up to what is it 260 270 cut in half for two different divisions. 190 will never happen because if you think about it you will likely just have the non hackers from 185 and 205. i think they could add a few weight classes im not sure where though. There is no reason we have a ppv without a title fight on it. Rampage Jardine is a good fight, but far from the main event.

  11. roy says:

yeah 185 is not even deep enough so 195 would not help but i agree on the hw devision there is just to much of a leap.did you guys see the interivew where the guy ask dana white how he thought faber would do against some of the 205 guys and dana said not good and the interviewer said well that was the difference in wieght for randy vs lesnar.

  12. steve says:

    exactly roy.

  13. David says:

Yeah and Lesnar even had a weight limit. If I remember correctly he couldn't be over 266, those were Randy's terms. But please correct me if I'm wrong.

  14. Tim says:

The HWGHTS must meet the 265lbs weight limit i dont believe there is a 1pound give for this i could be wrong and because it was a title fight definetly not, remember whenever a title is on the line its the exact weight limit and if a fighter goes over they get i believe 2 chances to make weight, if they fail again its usually goes as a non title fight and the overwight fighter must give like 10% of his pay towards the other fighter win or lose.
