Strikeforce News: Jake Shields vs. Joe Riggs Set For April 11

According to ATO, EliteXC welterweight champion Jake Shields (22-4-1) will take on Joe “Diesel” Riggs (29-10) at Strikeforce “Shamrock vs. Diaz” event, on April 11 from the HP Pavilion in San Jose, CA. The report has since been confirmed by multiple sources.

Jake Shields brings his EliteXC welterweight belt along with an 11 fight winning streak to face former UFC fighter fighter Joe Riggs. Shields a well versed ground specialist, is considered one of the top 170lb. fighters in world. His run in EliteXC gained him some mainstream exposure when he submitted UK sensation Paul Daley last year at EliteXC “Heat” on CBS.

Following his surgery to repair a disc in his back, Joe Riggs defeated Luke Stewart via second round TKO stoppage at Strikeforce “Destruction”.

Strikeforce “Shamrock vs. Diaz” will be broadcast on April 11 live on Showtime.

    he'll get the win. riggs has his good days in the ring but he would have to put on an amazing performance to outclass shields. riggs will probably get submitted.
