According to MMAJunkie, former “The Ultimate Fighter” season 1 veteran, Chris Leben has signed a two year multi-fight contract to fight in the UFC.
MMAjunkie.com (www.mmajunkie.com) has confirmed that the new deal will pay him $25,000 “to show†and $25,000 as a “win bonus†for each fight of the new deal. (The figures were first revealed in his MySpace interview.) Leben had been making just $10,000 to show and $10,000 to win since his official UFC debut in April 2005.
Last year Leben threatened to leave the UFC in favor of Hawaii’s ICON Sport ,if his pay was not increased. Leben currently coaches and trains at the ICON Sport fitness center in Honolulu Hawaii.
Chris Leben takes on Alessio Sakara at UFC 82 on March 1 from Nationwide Arena in Columbus, Ohio.
I am glad to see that they are willing to raise the pay of their midlevel fighters.
ok that sounds a lot better. $25K min per fight, and leben usually fights 3 times a year. so he'll be making at least $75K and at most,150K… excluding the endorsements he gets, the ladies he gets, and his trainer job in hawaii.
he is a tough guy and always puts on a show i am glad they resigned him now they need to resign aa.
I think they should give him $30,000 a fight because he is a streaky fighter who goes through 3 wins then 3 losses…but im glad he's getting a raise

if leben uses all of his skills he should have no problem but if he stands and bangs with this guy he is giving him a better chance to win.
