Shortly after Carlos Condit’s (22-4) fight with Brock Larson in the WEC was cancelled due to some sort on injury, the UFC has announced that Condit will now take on Martin Kampmann (14-2) at UFC Fight Night 18 on April 1 in Nashville, Tenn.
This news comes amidst rumors that the WEC was looking to fold its welterweight division into the UFC, especially since Carlos Condit has cleared out the whole division. The WEC has been eliminating heaver division to focus solely in the lighter weight fighters.
This will be Kampmann’s first appearance in the UFC as a welterweight since losing to Nate Marquardt at UFC 88.

I agree. Theres no depth in the WW division in the WEC so I'm glad we'll finally see Condit fight better competition.
