During the WEC 46 post fight press conference, it was announced that Urijah Faber will be next in line to take on Jose Aldo for the WEC featherweight belt. It was thought that Faber would have to take on Mike Brown again before getting the title shot against Aldo, but WEC President Reed Harris said at the press conference “I think Faber is ready and I think the Aldo vs Faber fight is what people want to see.â€
Urijah Faber impressed last night, chocking out Raphael Assuncao at WEC 46 “Varner vs Henderson”.
Harris also told media that he is looking at Aldo vs Faber to headline the first ever WEC Pay-Per-View telecast.
WOW 1 fight and yu get a title shot they really need to stop this crap .

yeah i agree, they should have someone else in there but I think thats what they were trying to do with assuncao who I guess is the 5th ranked featherwieght in the world but faber spoiled that by choking him out.

I figured Faber and Brown could at least meet again as a rubber match for top contender, but I'm sure WEC wants to see their third clash as a 5 rounder. Unfortunately the division just isnt deep enough, who else would get the next shot at the title? Given how Faber lost his last fight to brown (broken hand and all) I'd say its not uncalled for.

it can't be a rubber match if you lose both of the first, and i agree faber got the shot to quick but, who else are you going to put there that can last with aldo? plus is aldo wins brown gets his rematch if aldo loses then you get to see brown vs. faber 3. either way your going to get to see 2 good fights.

PPV!!!! Come on, do they expect us to dish out 100 bucks a month between both UFC and WEC. Not gonna happen. I will say that the WEC was far more entertaining than Fight night.
