Once consider top MMA heavyweight, Mirko Cro Cop told Fighters Only Magazine:
“I believe that during 2009 I will fight three more times for Dream, then I hope for a farewell fight in the UFC.â€
Cro Cop is expected to have knee surgery in a couple of weeks, which could take him out of training for three months. Then some fights for DREAM, and a possible UFC sendoff sometime in late 2009.
“I’m not in the years when you can create a long-term plan… today my health is my priority.”
seems a low key end to a good career… doesn't seem that long ago that he was the number 1 Pride FC wrecking machine… who's he gonna fight in the UFC – Chuck Liddell at a catch weight around 220 would be great!
sad ending to a great fighter. i would like to see him retire on top not like this.
hopefully the ufc takes him up on his offer and gives him someone good to fight. i bet if mirko wins all of those fights he will change his mind and stay a little longer.
a rematch with gonzaga or kongo would be excellent.
